First post: The importance of meditation being a staple in a daily routine. There are so many different types of meditation, I've tried over 7 years. . To help my genetically inherited GAD from developing further and just overall trying to function in day to day with others, I attended a vipassana silence meditation retreat. 10 days that changed my life profoundly. Continuing afterwards was a challenge, changing habits and integrating it into my lifestyle was a series of relapses. . Bullet journaling and kind of keeping tabs on my ups, downs and process of thought patterns has made me fully aware of the effects of meditating and not meditating, within work, relationships, appreciation of the present moment and things as they are and just overall happiness. #GAD #anxiety #depression #mentalhealth #growth #improvement #meditate #meditatedaily

Its taken a couple of weeks to come to the realisation that the black dog has taken a firm hold. - Symptoms: • Removal of contact with friends • Constant state of tiredness after waking • Never ending negative thought process • Hiding in my home - It hit me this morning. Woke up at 05:00am after going to sleep at around 07:30pm last night. Actually woke with some energy so thought I would do some work on my PC. About 30 mins into work I felt myself slowing to a halt. Just sitting in my chair stairing at the screen thinking "what's the point". After another hour or so of just clicking round the screen aimlessly, my cat started meowing at and being silly rolling round the floor next to me. This was enough to break me away from the cycle of doing nothing productive and move away from the pc. Looked at myself in the mirror and starting back was the face of depression. Tired, bags under my eyes, no colour in my skin, greesy hair. Just a mess. - I was scared to post this because it might draw attention to me from family, but the more I thought about hiding it, the more I felt like I would be shutting myself away from the world. Getting deeper into the cycle of depression. - So, I've come to the realisation that things arnt right. And I need to address the negative thoughts. Break them down and build them back up with some rational. The biggest one being "Whats the point".
